Poetry: I Often Look Through Mirrors

The smile on the other side isn’t real.

Transparency is though.

Have you ever locked eyes

with yourself in a mirror?

It’s so difficult.

To see the real you.

Unbroken and intact.

Not smashed,

Whacked,

With a hammer.

I often look through windows and mirrors

To see if I can see,

Who is looking back,

and with whose eyes.
