Daily writing prompt
You’re writing your autobiography. What’s your opening sentence?

In my opening autobiography,
I would very much like to see
kind words written about my life:
the good times, and the strife.

These words would need to explain
away some of the pain
experienced over years of toil,
life fated and set to spoil–
on Earth, I suppose, with people,
of me climbing up a steep hill.

The opening words should encapsulate
highs and lows to approximate:
“It was a hard start, always,
yet the future holds calmer days.”
