Poetry: “Unlike May”

Photo by Irina Iriser on Pexels.com

Even if you are cold,
It’s alright.
I understand that the months
aren’t always the way they should be.

Perfect seasons are dull sometimes,
and sometimes they greet us–
like vigor in our blood
and our hearts pop.

Even if you are cold,
you are not unlike May
in the summertime
of Michigan.
