Beach or mountains? Which do you prefer? Why?

I think I like beaches
but only lonely ones,
where I can watch the horizon
while listening to the
washing of waves on the shore.

Aside from the discordance
of familial dysfunction.

I do love mountains, though,
one of which I climbed in
Northern Michigan, and
nearly ran to my raggedy death
on the way back down.

The sound of my family
screaming behind me.

Another mountain I walked up
with my girlfriend
and she came down my
wife one bright, winter day.

We have a lovely family now,
regardless of the commotion.
